Digital LA Networking – June 2010 – Upper West Restaurant – West Los Angeles Bar and Restaurant
Monday night Digital LA held an event at Upper West. The happy hour Ginger cocktails cost $6 and the two appetizers I devoured cost $25.
Alejandro by Lady Gaga got played a few times by the DJ – she has both hands in her pocket and she won’t look at you. She hides true love. You know that I love you boy – hot like Mexico. Don’t call my name – Alejandro. Don’t call my name – Roberto. Alejandro Alejandro Alejandro…Ali ali ali handro. Just let me go. She’s not broken, she’s just a baby. The Upper West restaurant makes food like Lady Gaga makes music.
Back to writing about this incredible west los angeles restaurant. The hostess was very helpful with the menu, drink specials, and accomodations. The valet driver outside was a habibi from Tunisia. He took great care of my car and it only cost $6 bucks. Tip your valet – they deserve it.
Alejandro…Alejandro…Ali…Ali…Jandro….
A wider selection of drinks for Happy Hour would be a good idea. If you skip the drinks and just order from the appetizer list you will be happy. At $10 for an appetizer you can come here and have it as an entree – plentiful portions and well priced. Every piece of food I put into my dome tasted amazing. Rich in taste, spice, international fusion flare! Try it out, try it out again, and then go again – it’s that good.
There must be somethin in the water. Sippin Gin N Juice. Sittin underneath the palm trees. You could travel whereve. But nothing comes close to the Golden Coast. Once you party with us, you’ll be fallin in love. California girls were unforgettable. So hot we’ll melt your popsicle. California girls are undeniable. West coast represent now put your hands up. Uh oho oh oh oh. Sex on the beach. We freak – in the jeep. Snoop Doggie Dog on the stereo. Nothing comes close to the Golden Coast. Once you party with us you’ll be fallin in love. California. Daisy dukes bikinis on top. Uh oh oh oh oh oh.

Cool restaurant concept – Vizzi Visionary Cuisine – mobile truck restaurant in West LA
Vizzi Visionary Cuisine was developed by Chad Fune and his business partner who also works as this mobile food restaurant’s chef. I was skateboarding back home from the West LA Community Police Graduation when I came across this incredibly cool restaurant concept. I was stuffed from all the pasta, salad, brownies, cake, and coffee I had just eaten a few minutes before – so I had to pass on Chad’s offer to try their food. I don’t remember exactly what Chad told me his top three entrees were – but check out the video above and find out. You can also find out more information about the Visionary Cuisine truck on yelp – youtube – twitter.
If you mention this blog post and go to their mobile truck restaurant – Chad will give you free Cookies!

LA Middle Eastern Restaurants – Bella Pita – Lamb melts in your mouth.
We recently tried to go to Byblos restaurant on Westwood but felt we were under-dressed for their impressive decor. We ended up at Bella Pita, and as it often happens in LA, unplanned outcomes often become wonderful surprises. Bella Pita is a los angeles restaurant you should try and pay attention to if you are a restauranteer or la foodie. Bella Pita makes every dish with love, a variety of ingredients, and special spice recipes. I was in pure heaven with every bite of the Lamb Wowshi – which is not on the Bella Pita menu, but only costs an additional .50 cents for the modification.
The Lamb Wowshi was the best tasting lamb pita / schwarma sandwhich I’ve had since being in Amman, Jordan and eating Reem Shwarma. In Amman, the lines wait down the streets for the pita sandwiches – so the restaurant operates on a spindle serving system. Bella Pita prepares theirs in a unique way off the spindle that preserves the spindle flavor without eliminating the rich taste. We also ate a falaffel wowshi that was also equally tasty, moist, and rich in sauces.
The appetizer we enjoyed was calliflower that was slightly singed or deep fried and seasoned. After putting on white sauce, tsaziki, hummus, and hot cream sauce – it became fatty delicious goodness.
(***** / *****) five out of five stars – view Bella Pita’s Yelp Review or on google’s restaurant review.
Service – prepared by the loving hands of the owner and his loyal assistants
Decor – quaint, small, and warm
Food Quality – high end meats, flavors, and all the condiments once could ask for and more
Price – extremely reasonable and amazingly low

Franchising information: Bella Pita is interested in franchising their restaurant in the Southern California market. If you are interested in purchasing a Bella Pita franchise please call: (312)-560-0175 or email Franchises@LARestaurantDaily.com and ask for John. Initial start-up cost in the Los Angeles area market is $100,000. This covers your franchise fee, grease trap, LA county permits, incorporation, location, equipment, and supplies. Bella Pita is looking to agressively expand their successfully tested menu, ingredients, and locations. Start-up costs are extremely low compared to comparable style restaurants with menus and recipes that lack in quality, flavor, and repeat customers.
