Harold & Belle’s Restaurant
With southern cooking and good service, this award restaurant is casual yet elegant. You have the choice to make your dining experience how you like it. Southern hospitality can be found here in LA at Harold’s and Belle’s Restaurant. Their prices are moderate, but they have specials, such as their Happy Hour Special for food and drinks.
Harold and Belle’s Restaurant is a family affair that began way back in 1969 with a husband and wife team that wanted to bring home-style New Orleans cooking to California. Their cooking has grabbed many people’s attention and they’ve been consistently winning awards since 1999. With signature dishes such as Gumbo, Fried Chicken, Jambalaya, and Fried Crawfish, you’ll surely lick your plate clean.
Probably not the healthiest food out there, it sure is good. Portions are large and there’s butter in just about every dish. While the prices aren’t too cheap, you’ll get a huge amount of food, so it’s easy to split a dish with a friend or two. If you’re looking for some fantastic southern food and southern hospitality, then come to Harold and Belle’s.

Polka Polish Restaurant
Family owned and run, you’ll be sure to get hearty meals and great service here at Polka Polish Restaurant. Their dishes certainly do justice to Polish food. All meals come with soup and salad, in addition to potatoes and veggies and the large portions mean that you can probably get away with ordering less meals than there are people or taking food home at the end.
Though their menu is limited to only 15 dishes, as they say at Polka’s, “Take it or leave it”. If you want to sample all their dishes, you can try the All You Can Eat Party, which at $20 a person is pretty much a bargain for what you get. Even vegetarians will enjoy eating here as Number 10 is a Vegetarian Plate. With 10 items to choose from, their tea menu is almost as big as their meal menu. From Golden Seal to Black Tea or Green Tea, you’ll have plenty to choose from.
If you’ve got kids, they’re more than welcome here. All their meals can be made to be kids’ meals, they simply halve the price and the portion. As far as desserts go, they don’t have much to offer other than pudding and ice cream or coffee, but that’s only one downside to Polka Polish Restaurant. If you’re looking for authentic Polish food and a homey atmosphere, then Polka Polish Restaurant is the place to go.

Danielle’s Wood Fired Pizza
Located on 4822 Laurel Canyon Blvd in Valley Village, this pizza joint is superbly popular and rightly so. Never soggy and always with a crisp crust this restaurant has traditional as well as newer toppings, such as corn, yep, that’s right – corn.
The choices are fantastic and you can create your pizza just how you like it and even order one half one way and the other half of the pizza another way, perfect for a family or group of friends who can’t decide pizza they should order. Vegans will love Danielle’s Wood Fired Pizza as the crust is vegan. So if you order just sauce and veggies, and eliminate the cheese, then you’ve got a perfect vegan pizza.
Despite being overwhelmingly popular, the owners are still concerned about what their customers think. If they make a mistake, they’ll apologize profusely and they’ve even been known to offer customers freebies while they’re waiting for their food. More than one person has been given a free slice of pepperoni while they wait. Perhaps it’s a combination of the friendly, generous owner and the mouth watering food. Whatever it is, Danielle’s Wood Fired Pizza is here to stay.
