Can you please hold the butter?
It makes one drop their mouth open in aw as the person walk into the café Elysee and listen to the music that one expects to hear in an old time French movie. The insides were nice and simple that makes one feel right at home. The only challenging factor is the food. The food looks glorious just be careful with the calories. When I first walked into the restaurant, I was amazed by the overload of sweets. The pastries looked inviting. Take the ham and cheese quiche.
It is really filling, bursting with fresh pieces of ham and cheese is melting with the right amount of flavor . Unfortunately right after I finished it, I felt like I ran a marathon. It was over loaded with butter. The crust wasn’t crunchy, instead it was somewhat gummy, it made me fill heaver then I did before the meal. The Cesar salad that I had with the quiche was made with the correct amount of the garlicky dressing. It was nice and crisp, a nice contrast with the pastry. A previous meal that I had there earlier was a panini with prosciutto with fresh mozzarella, kalamata olives, tomatoes, and mayonnaise that had a nice crunchy bread that broke apart in my mouth with flakiness that can only be homemade. I was wise however to ask them to not put on the mayo, instead have it with their homemade balsamic vinaigrette that gave it a nice touch.
It looked like a French bistro, it was stunning to go outside from my meals to discover the palm trees that were outside. For those who have never been to Paris will have an experience at the café that will make you feel like your vacationing there instead of having a simple meal.

The meat sauce is a little fatty, and thus that’s why it’s good. The fat doesn’t completely fall apart in your mouth, you sort of just chew it and swallow. Take three chews and swallow, then repeat. The italian food here is much better than at Anna’s closing on Pico. Well not really: same same, but different – as they say in Thailand.
I love finely chopped salad – it’s the only way I REALLY like to eat a salad. If they would have made the salad a little fresher, and a little more chilled, it would have tasted slightly better. Usually when they are not that crowded you can get a really “fresh” salad. You must try this salad, no matter where you live, no matter who you are, it’s that good
