We recently tried to go to Byblos restaurant on Westwood but felt we were under-dressed for their impressive decor. We ended up at Bella Pita, and as it often happens in LA, unplanned outcomes often become wonderful surprises. Bella Pita is a los angeles restaurant you should try and pay attention to if you are a restauranteer or la foodie. Bella Pita makes every dish with love, a variety of ingredients, and special spice recipes. I was in pure heaven with every bite of the Lamb Wowshi – which is not on the Bella Pita menu, but only costs an additional .50 cents for the modification.

The Lamb Wowshi was the best tasting lamb pita / schwarma sandwhich I’ve had since being in Amman, Jordan and eating Reem Shwarma. In Amman, the lines wait down the streets for the pita sandwiches – so the restaurant operates on a spindle serving system. Bella Pita prepares theirs in a unique way off the spindle that preserves the spindle flavor without eliminating the rich taste. We also ate a falaffel wowshi that was also equally tasty, moist, and rich in sauces.

The appetizer we enjoyed was calliflower that was slightly singed or deep fried and seasoned. After putting on white sauce, tsaziki, hummus, and hot cream sauce – it became fatty delicious goodness.
