Tequila Taco Night
The video above is so entertaining we just had to post it. If restaurants ever served up a nearly 40,000 calorie burrito, the FDA might have to get involved. This youtube entertainer sure knows how to cook up some interesting mexican dishes.

Tacos La Estrella
You simply can’t go wrong with Mexican food and Taco La Estrella dishes up just what they promise. Cheap, delicious food that will have you coming back for more. Their meat is fresh and the sauce are absolutely delicious. If you need a kick, try the hot sauce, but just be warned, it’s pretty hot.
The people working there are friendly and helpful, just what you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant. Warm people, always happy and smiling and offer suggestions on what to order if you need help deciding. Listen to what they have to say, they know what they’re talking about as far as their menu goes.
The prices are very affordable. With a taco being a little over a buck, you’ll be sure to want to buy a dozen. Their sopes are hand-made, you can often see the cooks making them right then and there. It’s a hidden gem that’s becoming more and more popular, so be sure to go there and see what all the fuss is about.

Vees Café
Good food, great atmosphere and they even deliver. Vees Café has it all. Small and cozy this coffee shop offers tradition coffee shop fare such as chai teas and espressos as well as food with a Mexican twist, such as their spinach tortillas and green sauce. There are also hot and cold sandwiches that you can eat with a delicious smoothie or freshly squeezed juice, even veggie juice. Their wide selection of coffee and teas guarantees that you’ll go home happy. They have loose tea leaves as well if you’re looking for something more natural. As if that’s not enough, they even have milkshakes.
It’s artsy and you might see people playing guitar or looking through their camera lens. It’s a relief to find a coffee shop that’s not geared towards yuppies or dinks. True to its artsy nature they offer vegan options as well. Want soy milk? No prob, your wish is their command. Green and down to earth, they’ve got friendly service and value their customers. They even have those punch cards that will get you a free drink.
Don’t forget dessert. After all, coffee shops are just as famous for their pastries, cookies and other sweets. Their red velvet cupcakes are absolutely divine. The only downside is that on weekends they close a bit early. Yet it’s for a good cause, they want the staff to be able to go out and party. Life doesn’t get much better than that.

Nat’s Early Bite Coffee Shop
American diners became popular years ago and while many of them have died out, a precious few have stayed open and Nat’s is one of them. For more than three decades, they’ve been serving up delicious homemade American dishes and have even branched out to Mexican and health food. With special kids’ meals and servers that know how to talk to children, you can’t go wrong.
Breakfast dishes include scrambles, fruits, cereals, hot cakes, French toast and waffles. If it’s lunch you’re looking for, you’ll find burgers, soups, salads, and sandwiches galore to choose from. As usual, dessert is often the best part of the meal. They’ve got a couple of set pies to choose from and desserts that change often enough, so be sure to ask your waiter for some recommendations. They even have dinners available, but as is often the case with diners, there isn’t much selection. That being said, if you’re at Nat’s for dinner, you can choose from chicken, fish, turkey, or meat dishes.
The décor is typical of a diner, a bit gaudy, but happy nonetheless. As with most diners, their hash browns and coffee are pretty good and always ready. They’ve got a number of daily specials to choose from as well as their regular meals. They’ve got more than a few loyal customers who keep coming back for more and whether it’s the food or the service, or a combination of both, Nat’s Early Bit Coffee Shop sure hits the spot.

La Cevicheria
Ceviche, the Latin American version of sushi is becoming more and more popular. If raw fish isn’t to your taste, then not to worry, because they have plenty of other dishes to try. Their fish taco is incredibly popular as are their quesadillas. You really should try a seafood dish or two at La Cevicheria. If you do decide to open for a ceviche, try the bloody clam dish (conchas negras) it’s out of this world. Be sure to save room for dessert, their tres leches is sweet and will melt in your mouth.
The downside is that the area is a bit sketchy, so all the more reason to go with a group of friends to try their delicious dishes. Also, the restaurant is pretty small, so a bit hard to find, and there’s not a lot of parking available. However, the food more than makes up for these downfalls and you certainly can’t beat the prices. The fish tacos will only set you back about five bucks and they’re authentic and all their food is so fresh it could probably walk off the plate.
La Cevicheria has a lot to offer as far as low prices, large portions, fresh food, and friendly staff. Of course, this being a Latin American restaurant, if there’s a soccer game on, you can bet it will be on they will turn the TV on. If you’re sick of the same old-same old, then check out La Cevicheria, you won’t be disappointed.

Restaurants in LA – making a mess while blogging about them.
It’s rare that I eat at home – I’m generally out writing reviews of los angeles restaurants around West LA, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and elsewhere. When I do eat at home, I love to shop at Trader Joe’s and sample their interesting mixes of chips and salsa. I’ve never seen a canned corn based salsa in any grocery store in the US. It’s rather corpulent of me to eat at La mexican restaurants in the afternoon and feast on chips and salsa in the evening. Too bad I spoiled my late night snack by tipping my plate on my lap

LA Mexican Restaurants – Poquito Mas 2215 Westwood Blvd
LA mexican restaurants are far fewer in number in Los Angeles than I would have expected. Poquito Mas is the gourmet fast food mexican restaurant of Los Angeles. The staff is fast, friendly, and genuinely interested in your satisfied dining experience.
I ate the steak and carnitas tacos. The price was a bit expensive, but Poquito Mas gives you a huge amount of food. The taco’s were a little moist, so when I picked the taco up to forcibly shove down my gullet, the taco breading tore and I had to finish with my fork.
The ingredients at Poquito Mas are fresh, delivered daily, and the restaurant owners/operators take great pride in their quality product. They have an extensive menu, but I wouldn’t order the carnitas again in the future. Poquito Mas certainly has Chipotle beaten hands down in variety and quality of food – but not in pricing.

Bamboo Restaurant – 10835 Venice Blvd – Culver City, CA – Salmon to die for
Bamboo Restaurant delivered a solid (*****/*****) five out of five stars this Tuesday evening. The server was fast, smart, and brought out the food fresh with plenty of pep. We had the salmon, house salad, corn chowder soup, soda, and bread / butter.
Total cost with a restaurant.com $25 coupon – $24.61
Worth every penny.
