Comme Ca

Monday, Jul 12, 2010

You really can’t go wrong with French food and Comme Ca cooks to perfection. A modern day French brasserie that open just three short years ago has already become a popular restaurant. Wine isn’t the only drinks they have to offer. They have an 18A drink menu that will wow you with their unique mix of drinks.

There are sandwiches and salad dishes galore to choose from in addition to seafood such as oysters and shrimp cocktails. No French restaurant would be complete without the cheese and Comme Ca is no exception, you can choose from a couple of cheese platters on offer. Dinner is especially nice and they have a different specialty every day to choose from. You should start with an hors d’oeuvres or too, with endive salad, crab cakes, soups, and many other dishes. Among the entrees you’ll find duck, salmon, lobster, as well as beef, and even cheese.

Not enough? There are plenty of side dishes, such as pommes frites, as well as dessert. The crème brulee and profiteroles are especially tasty. The owner and main chef is especially proud of his restaurant, so if you have a suggestion or would like to compliment the wonderful dishes, send your regards to the chef.

Providence

Monday, Jul 12, 2010

The saying you get what you pay for has never been more true than now. Providence is an expensive restaurant, but it’s worth the splurge. The menu changes often, so you’ll always have delicious dishes to choose from. The Asian food isn’t the only good thing about Providence, the bar is certainly worth a visit as well as one of the best bartenders in LA works there. The service is no less than spectacular, which is what you’d expect from a five star restaurant.

A classy restaurant that demands that you dress properly to get in, you’ll be spoiled by the wait staff from the moment you walk in the door. Always attentive to your needs, your waiter will make sure that you have a wonderful dining experience. While the menu might look intimidating, the waiters will happily help you choose a dish to your tastes.

The chefs’ tasting menu ought to be tried, if you have the time. Only the best is chosen and the dishes change often so that you’ll be able to try a wide variety of Asian fusion dishes. If you’d like to eat at Providence, make sure you make a reservation or you might be waiting for quite a long time to get a table at this popular restaurant. It’ll take a few hours for you to get through your meal, but you’re guaranteed to enjoy every mouthful.

La Cevicheria

Monday, Jul 05, 2010

Ceviche, the Latin American version of sushi is becoming more and more popular. If raw fish isn’t to your taste, then not to worry, because they have plenty of other dishes to try. Their fish taco is incredibly popular as are their quesadillas. You really should try a seafood dish or two at La Cevicheria. If you do decide to open for a ceviche, try the bloody clam dish (conchas negras) it’s out of this world. Be sure to save room for dessert, their tres leches is sweet and will melt in your mouth.

The downside is that the area is a bit sketchy, so all the more reason to go with a group of friends to try their delicious dishes. Also, the restaurant is pretty small, so a bit hard to find, and there’s not a lot of parking available. However, the food more than makes up for these downfalls and you certainly can’t beat the prices. The fish tacos will only set you back about five bucks and they’re authentic and all their food is so fresh it could probably walk off the plate.

La Cevicheria has a lot to offer as far as low prices, large portions, fresh food, and friendly staff. Of course, this being a Latin American restaurant, if there’s a soccer game on, you can bet it will be on they will turn the TV on. If you’re sick of the same old-same old, then check out La Cevicheria, you won’t be disappointed.

Kyochon Chicken

Monday, Jun 28, 2010

Chicken wings are a staple when the game’s on and with the World Cup going on this year, you should grab and order and cheer on your favorite team. Kyochon Chicken is famous for its Chicken Wings and Korean style dishes. Located on 3833 W 6th St, they also deliver just in case you’re too busy showing team spirit to pick up your order. If you like spicy wings, then try the sweet and spicy, just beware that they live up to their name. The Korean side of the restaurant can be seen in its Soy Garlic Chicken Wings. If you want a milder order, then try the Honey Wings. Their fries are classic wedge styled and come with dipping sauce. You could easily make a meal out of the wings and fries.

Service can be iffy depending on the time of day you go. If you go during a busy time, don’t expect much. However, if you go when there are less people, you’ll find that the staff goes out of their way to make sure you’re happy with your meal. Korean hospitality will shine through.

Kyochon recently changed their menu and with all change, it takes a bit getting used to. While they now serve beer, some of the popular dishes such as bulgogi and spicy fried rice are now gone. They seem to be opting for healthier rice balls and ditching the spicier options because they’re too spicy. With that being said, the wings and fries are superb and great now that football season is fast approaching.

Komodo serves up some sick ninja street war assasin food. The food is rich in flavor, ingredients, preperation, and service. Recently we were across the street at another Los Angeles mobile vending restaurant. Komodo clearly thinks they are the best mobile food truck in Los Angeles. I didn’t try my friends food, but I have to say it didn’t nearly look as good as what I ordered.

My mini tacos didn’t have the spice or kick I was looking for. However, I did not look at their menu closely enough – as they indicate by color the level of spice. So I assume there are some spicy dishes for those who like to indulge in kurry ecstacy.

The owner of this los angeles mobile restaurant was extremely nice. I told him what we do here at LARestaurantDaily.com and he gladly told us on camera about his business. Please leave a comment and let the owner know what you think about his culinary entrepreneurial endeavor :)

Location: Sawtelle and Olympic – a block down from the Yogurtland at Sawtelle shopping plaza.

Tell ‘em LARestaurantDaily.com sent you and that John says hello and that he cooks up better food than half the restaurants in Beverly Hills!

The food at Vienna Cafe is amazing, the service was fantastic, and the food makes my mouth water as I write this. The total came out to be $13.26 and the proportions of food were just enough. The Greek Omelette I had was cheesy, hot, and full of flavors. The best part about Vienna cafe is when you leave – you can take some free bread from their bakery. The hispanic bus boy (I can’t remember his name) was extremely nice and outgoing – he was in a particularly good mood after telling him my name is Juanito El Terrible. He went in the back and got me a free Autumn Loaf of bread that was thick and bready; it tasted great with tons of butter and a quick bake.

Monday night Digital LA held an event at Upper West.  The happy hour Ginger cocktails cost $6 and the two appetizers I devoured cost $25.

Alejandro by Lady Gaga got played a few times by the DJ – she has both hands in her pocket and she won’t look at you.  She hides true love.  You know that I love you boy – hot like Mexico.  Don’t call my name – Alejandro.  Don’t call my name – Roberto.  Alejandro Alejandro Alejandro…Ali ali ali handro.  Just let me go.  She’s not broken, she’s just a baby. The Upper West restaurant makes food like Lady Gaga makes music.

Back to writing about this incredible west los angeles restaurant.  The hostess was very helpful with the menu, drink specials, and accomodations.  The valet driver outside was a habibi from Tunisia.  He took great care of my car and it only cost $6 bucks.  Tip your valet – they deserve it.

Alejandro…Alejandro…Ali…Ali…Jandro….

A wider selection of drinks for Happy Hour would be a good idea.  If you skip the drinks and just order from the appetizer list you will be happy.  At $10 for an appetizer you can come here and have it as an entree – plentiful portions and well priced.  Every piece of food I put into my dome tasted amazing.  Rich in taste, spice, international fusion flare!  Try it out, try it out again, and then go again – it’s that good.

There must be somethin in the water.  Sippin Gin N Juice.  Sittin underneath the palm trees.  You could travel whereve.  But nothing comes close to the Golden Coast.  Once you party with us, you’ll be fallin in love.  California girls were unforgettable.  So hot we’ll melt your popsicle.  California girls are undeniable.  West coast represent now put your hands up.  Uh oho oh oh oh.  Sex on the beach.  We freak – in the jeep.  Snoop Doggie Dog on the stereo.  Nothing comes close to the Golden Coast.  Once you party with us you’ll be fallin in love.  California.  Daisy dukes bikinis on top.  Uh oh oh oh oh oh.
