Bottega Louie
Everyone loves Italian food and pizza and Bottega Louie has some tasty dishes that are combined with beautiful décor that you’ll have a hard time believing that you’re in LA. You simply have got to try the Portobello fries that everyone is talking about. And you can’t forget the onion soup either. It’s a perfect side dish for any entrée. As far as main dishes go, you can’t go wrong when you order the pizza. The pizza comes straight out of the oven piping hot and the ooey, gooey cheese is fantastic.
The décor is breath taking. The ceilings are high and elegant and the simplicity of the design adds to the ambience. It mimics Italy with the white marble, glistening bar and white walls. But it’s not one of those little Italian cafes, it’s huge and is loud, so don’t plan on having important conversations. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes and restaurant.
They’ve got a full bar, so you can get any drink that you want or have a bottle of wine to go with your romantic dinner. You definitely have to try their desserts. The chocolate peanut tart is a perfect blend of chocolate and peanuts. Overall, four stars and a nice place to go to escape LA.

Dino’s Chicken and Burgers
Their name says it all. They’ve got chicken and burgers and they do them very well. Like many hole-in-the-wall places, it’s not in the best of neighborhoods, but their food is unbelievable, so grab a friend or two and head down to Dino’s.
Their chicken is a wee bit spicy and garlicy, but it sure hits the spot. Hope you’re hungry because you’ll be getting lots and lots of fries with it. If that’s not enough, they’ll also give you corn tortillas as well as some coleslaw. A meal fit for a king at pauper prices, only 5 bucks.
They’ve got burgers as well, a double cheeseburger will only run you a little over $3. Their sauce is a bit like thousand island, a bit like Latin, Greek, and Indian mixed together. But no matter, it’s still great. Parking’s pretty bad, so call ahead of time. Dino’s offers great food, low prices, and chicken that’s absolutely amazing.

Vinotega
When you combine Italian cuisine with Brazilian style you get Vinotega. Nestled between Farfalla and Tropicalia Grill on Hillhurst Ave. in Los Feliz, Vintoega is a samplers haven of tapas, unique wines and dozens of cheeses. The tiramisu is homemade to perfection. The atmosphere doesn’t remind you of a café in Venice, but more like a modern winery in Napa Valley.
The walls are lined with a plethora of Californian and international wines. And while the friendly staff pours customers another glass, they’re most likely preparing their most beloved dish – risotto in grozza served in a Parmesan cheese wheel. The cart is rolled out carrying the 2 foot wheel of cheese, the lid is taken off and presto, the dish is served.
If you’re looking for an exceptional wine bar experience, then Vinotega is the place to go.
